SWINGING FROM THE BOOM

Growing up in Padanaram, MA, founder, David Curtis has spent the majority of his life on the water— quite literally. At a very young age, David was most often spotted in a car seat swinging from the boom of his parent’s sailboat.

In his youth, David seized opportunities to gain experience and knowledge in many aspects of the marine industry. From sailing school, working as an assistant sailmaker and assistant technician (heating, refrigeration, water-making) to attaining his PADI Diver Certifications and USCG Limited Master (Launch Tender) License.

SUPERYACHT

Labor and pastime continued to intertwine themselves and fuel maritime interests and passions further. David began enjoying his free time restoring antique boats along with other small maintenance projects.

He developed an eye for luxury and attention to detail through crew and captain experiences (S/Y 67’) on Hinkley, Viking and Oyster Yachts, etc.— specifically his time spent on 44m super yacht, Artemis in Newport, RI and the BVI.

U.S. MERCHANT MARINE

David worked as a U.S. Merchant Marine Tankerman (PIC) and Mate on tugboats for the last decade. Working various marine trades within the industry (fuel, gravel, dredging, laying cable…) from Nova Scotia to New Jersey.
